I am so happy, this week my neice put up a post for an outfit for her daughter to win it, so I asked her who she wanted it for, and she told me for her two youngest. I was so thrilled, see my girls are grown there are no more homecoming, winter ball or prom dresses to make. Yes, my girls had a new dress for every dance if you want to see some of them you can go to my web site that I have not been on in a long time but it does have pictures of the girls dresses and some of the quilts that I have done. It's sewingathome.webs.com but the great thing is I get to sew for my great nieces and great great niece. So tomorrow I am off to Joann's to look for a pattern and fabric to make up some things to send to them. This will be so much fun for me. I will post some pictures here on my blog for all to see.

Sunday Funday

Well today was Sunday/Funday, the girls and I haven't had a day like this in a while. Amanda who is my youngest daughter had a paper for her Cultures of the World class, we had to go to a Museum so she can write 2 papers on 2 of the exibits. Michelle my oldest, came to the house early to start her laundry and then we left and went to the Museum, we went to the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science. I would have to say for as long as I have lived in Albuquerque, I have never been there. It was such a nice day with the girls. When we left the Museum we stopped at Old Town Pizza Parlor for a bite to eat, then the last stop was The Candy Lady in Old Town. Now back home for laundy and homework. Big change of pace from yesterday, yesterday I cooked and cleaned. I made 2 loaves of fresh homemade wheat bread and homemade turkey pot pies. I love spending the day at home because I don't get to do it very often.

Welcome to my blog, I am a 43 year old mother of 2 beautiful daughters who are 20 and 22. I wanted to start this blog because of the wonderful women on here that I follow. I love everything about home and family and want to blog and give my ideas and help others with ideas from the days gone by.
I enjoy sewing, cooking, canning, gardening, all thing about the home and some are very good at saving money. I have raised two wonderful daughters who are both in college and are outstanding people at heart. I have issues with todays generation and how they treat there parents and people in general, our culture has lost sight of respect and God. Yes, I beleve that everything in life is by the blessing of God, so there will be faith based postings.
I love to sew and will feature some of my sewing here and help anyone that has a question about sewing. I am a thrifty mom who has always had to make due and now with 2 kids in college that has been turned up a notch. I have a hard time paying full price for anything.
